Sam Altman’s residence in San Francisco has been targeted in two separate incidents within a 48-hour period. According to police reports, the first attack occurred early Sunday morning at approximately 1:40 AM. A vehicle stopped outside the home in the Russian Hill neighborhood, and a passenger fired a shot at the property before fleeing the scene. Authorities arrested two suspects, Amanda Tom and Muhammad Tariq Hussain, linked to the incident. They face charges of unintentional discharge of a firearm. Police used license plate recognition cameras to track the vehicle, which was later searched, revealing three firearms in their possession.

This follows a separate attack on Friday morning when a 20-year-old individual, identified as Daniel Alejandro Moreno-Gama, threw a Molotov cocktail at the home’s gate. Security personnel managed to extinguish the fire quickly. The suspect was later apprehended near the OpenAI headquarters after making further threats.

Sam Altman expressed concern regarding the rising community fears surrounding artificial intelligence, describing the current era as a significant historical shift. Despite the severity of the events, police confirmed that no one was injured in either attack. Investigations into the motives behind the incidents are currently ongoing.
