آبل تطلق تحذيرًا عاجلًا لمستخدمي آيفون: التحديث الآن ضرورة لا خيار
Apple urges iPhone users operating on outdated iOS versions, specifically iOS 13 and iOS 14, to update immediately to iOS 15 or higher to close security gaps exploited by advanced cyberattacks.
The company stated in an official support document that modern hacking tools like “Coruna” and “DarkSword” exploit vulnerabilities in these older systems, enabling attackers to take control of devices through malicious web content or links. Apple confirmed that installing the latest system version ensures data protection and prevents the exploitation of these flaws.
Apple noted that it has issued a series of security updates over the past months to address these vulnerabilities. Devices running iOS 15 up to iOS 26 are now protected, and the company released additional fixes on March 11 to directly address the issue. Apple indicated that older devices will receive an automatic alert in the coming days to install a “critical security update” to accelerate the protection process.
In addition to updating, Apple provides extra protection through the “Safe Browsing” feature in the Safari browser, which is enabled by default and prevents access to dangerous links associated with these attacks.
For devices unable to update, Apple offers the “Lockdown Mode,” an advanced security setting that reduces attack surfaces by disabling features such as image previews in messages or loading untrusted web content. This mode targets users most at risk, such as journalists or public figures.
Recent media reports indicate these tools have been used in several countries, including Ukraine, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Malaysia, suggesting a global spread and the ability to target any device running an old system version.
Apple concludes its warning by affirming that immediate updates remain the first line of defense for users against these escalating threats.
